Of course we love the beauty of space and the efforts that are taken by NASA to help us humans reach our full potential when it comes to exploring space. But, how has that progressed over the years, and more importantly how have the ways we got to explore space shaped us?
One invention truly gave scientists concrete evidence to many theories outside of our solar system, that is the Hubble Telescope. The Hubble Telescope truly revolutionized regular telescopes, originally scientists could only tell a few cosmic entities outside of our solar system with the standard telescope, even very large ones. On the other hand, the Hubble Telescope actually retrieves information for the scientific community to prove the existence of by being launched into space and orbiting Earth. Its innovation has been truly powerful as it helped us mark the observable universe and debunk many space mysteries.
Another invention, which also contains a telescope, the Kepler probe which is designed for a different purpose. The Kepler probe analyzes exoplanets with similar sizes to Earth and that have a star bright enough to have similar conditions to Earth and be contained in the habitable zone for life to potentially thrive in. This probe is vital to helping scientists for the need for searching for new planets that humans can potentially transition to if needed.
In the 1960s it was discovered that planets could propel probes to help them reach further destinations and conserve their fuel and reduce prices. A major innovation that incorporates that is Cassini which uses the gravity assistance to reach and analyze Saturn’s moons. This assistance is crucial to helping scientists make more probes instead of investing it into a few probes which would take up more time due to the costly resources and price of them.
Overall, all of these innovations developed over the past decades have shaped space exploration and how scientists collect data. Without the development of these probes, who knows where space exploration would be at, which is why it is important for scientists to keep on making scientific breakthroughs in order to help progress space exploration as a whole.
